The Pilbara Development Commission has welcomed the McGowan Government’s opening of round six of the Regional Economic Development (RED) grants and encourages regional businesses and organisations to apply for funding towards local projects.
The McGowan Government has allocated $5 million for round six from a total investment of $50.85 million over nine years (2018-19 to 2026-2027) towards the RED Grants program for locally driven projects that support the economic growth and development of regional Western Australia.
Round six grants will focus on projects which increase or sustain jobs, expand or diversify industry, develop skills or capability, improve business productivity and attract new investment to the regions.
Through the previous five rounds of RED grants, $3,725,120 in funding was approved to support 38 projects in the Pilbara region.
“RED Grant funding is helping Pilbara communities embrace new, diverse business, job and training opportunities”, said Terry Hill, CEO of the Pilbara Development Commission.
“I encourage businesses and organisations in our region to consider how RED grant funding could be used to support or enhance their business or community project.”
Applications are now open and close on 30 June 2023.
