The Pilbara Development Commission will offer information sessions over the coming weeks for people interested in applying for a Regional Economic Development (RED) Grant.
The RED Grants program is a $50.85 million over nine years (2018-19 to 2026-27) State Government initiative that invests in local projects to stimulate economic growth and development in regional Western Australia.
Delivered locally by Pilbara Development Commission, up to $250,000 is available for individual projects that contribute to increasing or sustaining jobs, expanding, or diversifying industry, developing skills or capabilities, boosting business productivity, and attracting new investment to the regions.
“The RED Grants program aims to boost investment in regional projects that contribute to population and economic growth initiatives and innovation pilots, and importantly, are driven by the community”, said Terry Hill, CEO for the Pilbara Development Commission.
“In the past, these grants have funded some outstanding projects in the Pilbara that have created real economic impact and employment opportunities, including a digital earthmoving simulator, the expansion of the Spinifex Hill Studio in South Hedland, and a North West Recycling mobile refund point.
“I encourage anyone considering applying for a RED Grant this round to book an information session with our Grants Officer, to discuss the suitability and eligibility of your project and to enable sufficient time to complete your application”.
