New website provides more support for Newman businesses

Mar 14, 2016

News, events and company listings for East Pilbara businesses are now easier to find with the launch of the new-look website for the Newman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI).

The contemporary new website reflects the progressive organisation behind it thanks to support from the Pilbara Development Commission.

Updated information, additional features and a comprehensive business directory make the new website a one-stop-shop for business news and information for Newman and the wider region.

Pilbara Development Commission Acting Chief Executive Officer Terry Hill congratulated the NCCI on the release of the new website.

“Building a robust and resilient small business sector in the Pilbara is a priority for the Commission and aligns with the Pilbara Blueprint,” Mr Hill said.

“Small to medium businesses are important to the region’s employment base and provide important services to our communities.

“The Commission is proud to support the NCCI and looks forward in/to continuing to strengthen our partnership.”

Operating now for more than 20 years, the NCCI maintains a strong voice for its members with the new website providing another channel for communication and advocacy.

NCCI General Manager Jeton Ahmedi said they took their time to develop the new website.

“We worked hard to understand how we best promote our business, why we do what we do and consider how we transform from ‘contact centres’ to ‘engagement centres’.

“Thanks to the Pilbara Development Commission’s funding support, the new website is now faster, easier to navigate and a lot more user friendly,” Mr Ahmedi said.

The Pilbara Development Commission will hold its May Board meeting in Newman and will host a Business After Hours in partnership with the NCCI on Wednesday, 4 May 2016. At the event, the Commission will provide an update on its activities and areas of focus as well as an opportunity for Board members to network with business owners and the community.

The Pilbara Development Commission accepts sponsorship applications for events and projects that align with its strategic objectives and the Pilbara Regional Investment Blueprint.
