Community Chest Fund supports local projects in the Pilbara

Jul 4, 2016

Regional events, community facilities and business workshops have all received a funding boost in round one of the Pilbara Community Chest Fund announced by the Minister for Regional Development Terry Redman today.

The $290,156 funding has enabled 10 projects with a total project value of more than $1 million.

The competitive application process attracted 40 submissions for funding in round one.

Pilbara Development Commission Acting Chief Executive Officer Terry Hill congratulated the successful applicants.

“The Commission received a large number of high calibre applications from local organisations for a diverse range of projects and events,” Mr Hill said.

“It’s great to see such a wide range of local initiatives being driven by the community to improve the quality of life of those living and working in the region.”

Organisations who were not successful in round one are encouraged to reapply in round two which opens on 1 August 2016.

“Our grants team is available to support applicants through the process to ensure they meet the assessment criteria and give themselves the best possible chance of accessing funding,” Mr Hill said.

“I encourage those who weren’t successful to seek feedback and consider reapplying in round two.”

Round two of the Pilbara Community Chest Fund opens on 1 August 2016. Visit the Pilbara Development Commission website for more information
