ePilbara

BACKGROUND

ePilbara is an initiative of Pilbara Development Commission. It provides an online presence for small to medium businesses in the Pilbara by allowing them to publicise their business capabilities to the major resource companies in the region. To date, 365 Pilbara businesses have registered and the website has had over 20,000 visits.

ePilbara offers a simple online search of suppliers by company, location or service. It is a single point of contact for resource company procurement and supply staff to identify suitable suppliers.

It addition, ePilbara enables fast access to project opportunities via ProjectConnect (www.projectconnect.com.au). Contractors and businesses can readily determine opportunities arising from major resource projects such as the Chevron Gorgon Project, CITIC Pacific Sino Iron Project, Woodside Pluto Project and others.

ePilbara is a free service provided by the State Government and sponsored by BHP Billiton Iron Ore, Chevron, Woodside Energy Ltd and CP Mining. It is supported by the Port Hedland, Karratha and Newman Chambers of Commerce and Industry.


LATEST UPDATE

The ePilbara home page has undergone a facelift for 2009 to provide a more contemporary look with easy to access search and register buttons.

ePilbara has also benefited from various marketing opportunities including an article in the Australian Mining Review, exhibitor at the Mining the Pilbara Conference 2009 and promotion at industry updates from Chevron, Woodside and CP Mining.

The ePilbara database has been improved with the inclusion of over 30 new businesses for 2009 plus updating of corporate contact details and email addresses and the removal of businesses that are no longer present in the Pilbara.
