BACKGROUND
he 2007 Regional Prices Index was produced by the Department of Local Government and Regional
development. The aim of the project was to price a basket of 250 goods and services in Perth and contrast the cost of purchasing the same goods at 21 regional locations around Western Australia. All nine non-metropolitan regions are represented in the project.
