The Pilbara Development Commission (PDC) is a Western Australian Government agency with offices in Port Hedland and Karratha. The PDC was established as a Statutory Authority under the Regional Development Commissions Act in 1994. It is one of nine development commissions established under this Act by the Government of Western Australia.

OUR MISSION
The Pilbara Development Commission is a progressive, strategically focused and effective leader in the social and economic development of the Pilbara. It works successfully to inform, partner with and advocate for Pilbara communities in relation to regional priorities - in accordance with the expectations of its stakeholders.
OBJECTIVES & FUNCTIONS
The Commission's role is to coordinate and promote the economic development of the Pilbara, specifically to:

Promote the regionThe Commission employs 13 staff, including 6 project staff. The Commission is a statutory authority governed by a Board. The composition of the Board is determined by the Regional Development Commissions Act and includes 3 local government representatives, 3 community appointments, 3 ministerial appointments and the Chief Executive Officer.
The Commission and its Board reports to the State Government through the Minister for Regional Development, Hon Brendon Grylls MLA Minister for Regional Development; Lands; Minister assisting the Minister for Transport; Minister assisting the Minister for State Development
The Commission receives an annual allocation from the State Government budget to carry out approved activities.
